With over a decade of experience across creative disciplines, I create cohesive suites of content across digital, print, and social for brands, organizations, and individual clients.
I style and shoot portrait photography; I shoot top-quality video and edit for everything from high-pressure events to longform documentaries; I create still and video content for social media; and so much more. As an Emmy-winning producer and editor, I am confident my broad experience can tackle your next project.

My approach to every project is art and authenticity first. Along with close collaboration with clients, I let creativity drive the process. Audiences today crave unique, authentic, and visually appealing content, whether in ads, campaigns, or personal content.
Whether it’s a wedding gallery or promotional video, I strive to deliver to my clients the products that represent their needs and their voice.

Capturing meaningful moments and making them both beautiful and permanent is the goal that drives my creativity. Taking clients from an amorphous idea to a final product that truly wows them fulfills me more than anything.
On top of the many digital creative pursuits for work, I am also a fine art oil painter and jewelry designer. Art isn’t just a job – it’s woven into every aspect of my life.
Born and raised in rural South Dakota, I moved to the Washington, DC area in 2014, where JDCS is based. Learn more here.
Kind words
from my clients
“We loved working with Jilanne, and treasure the photos she took during our engagement session. She is a total pro with a great eye. Her creativity, style and sensitivity is evident in every photo. When I look at the photos from that day, I see both the mark of her unique artistic touch *and* a beautifully rendered portrait of a special moment in time with my now-husband. She’s also fun, professional, reliable, and accommodating, which made her a breeze to work with.”
